Keeping a Food Diary is a must if you are trying to keep up with a healthy diet.  For my tracking, I write a general description of what I ate and the amount of calories the item contained.  I made the decision to just track what I consumed on an average day, without forcing restrictions on what I ate, or how often I ate.  By doing this, I realized my daily caloric intake was about 2,200.  While this isn’t too far off, most of my calories were coming from beverages, not just food.  An orange juice here, a soda there, a beer at the end of the day; It adds up fast.

Reviewing the trends for my daily consumption automatically adjusted my mentality regarding portion sizes and quality nutrition.  I love chips and salsa, and while I still enjoy eating them, I am more observant to limiting how much I eat.

Print out PocketMod Food Diary and give it a shot for a week or two, maybe it will help your belly, maybe it will help your budget.  Click here to learn how to fold the PocketMod.
